The story of over 100 different eye designs that were tried and tested with Figma.

Mia is characterised (we think) by her cute eye movements and her rich eye expressions of joy, anger and sadness when her head is stroked, and we would like to describe the story of how we created over 100 different rich eye expressions using Figma through trial and error. In the future, we would like to extend this eye design so that it can also be created by the user.

The story of how JLCPCB created a board and chassis and turned PDCA as quickly as possible in hardware development.

Mia, which is currently 100 units and in beta release, was created using JLCPCB for both the enclosure and the board. This article describes how we developed the PCB and the enclosure and ran the PDCA as quickly as possible. The actual order history shows that in the year 2023 alone, a total of more than 10 orders for board improvements were placed.

Until Mia’s design was completed: with an eye toward mass production

In the early days, I used a 3D printer to print the design of Mia's body through trial and error, but it didn't turn out to be a pretty design, and I felt I had reached my limits along the way.
